Satellite imegary

Satellite imagery are photos of Earth or other planets taken by artificial satellites.  They are used in various  fields such as meteorology, agriculture, geology, forestry, landscape, biodiversity conservation, regional planning, education, intelligence and warfare. Usually, satellite photos are visible in colors but in sometimes they could be presented in other spectra based on the purpose why these photo were taken for. 

The history of satellite imagery started in 1946 but in the 50's it become more popular, where in 1959  a US satellite called Explorer 6 took the first satellite photo of Earth. In the same year, the Soviet satellite took a photo of the moon. However, both photos were in black and white. 


This is the satellite photo for the Earth, it was taken when the Explorer 6 satellite was crossing Mexico. To be more specific, the satellite took a photo of the Pacific Ocean which is shown as the white light. 




This is a recent satellite photo of  Detroit
