Reflective essay

Web 2 project was one of the most interesting projects that I have undertaken at college. Basically, it was about numerous training sessions held by the students upon the topic assigned to them. I consider this project very beneficial due to several reasons. First, it gave me the chance to create and perform my first training session. As result, now I know that when I want to prepare a training session, I should set a plan that will contain the parts that I want to explain, their importance and the time duration. Also, to make the session more interesting, I should come up with activities for the trainees. Another advantage for this project was enhancing my skills by learning how to use 11 different tools that benefit me in my daily life and in my career in the future.  Overall, I would recommend this course for all the students regardless their majors. I have created this post in order to write my reflection regarding web 2 tools, I will describe their helpfulness and I will rank them starting from the most useful tool to the least one.

1.Diigo:
In my opinion, Diigo was the most useful tool among web 2 tools. It made the research process very easy, where I was able to create a file for each project in my library and then I have allocated the website, articles and journals that I found based on the project. Also, I was able the highlight the info that I want to use in my project. So when I will get back to the website, I could find the information easily. Also, I was able to highlight the information that I found for my colleagues’ parts and share it with them at the same time.

2. Prezi:
I have always wanted to learn how to create prezi, since there was few number of students who were able to create them. Prezi makes the presentation more interesting and creative since it has very lovely themes that are created to suit several topics. Also, it is very easy to use, where you can insert the videos directly from YouTube or any other website. Moreover, I could share my prezi with my group members. Finally, it has a cloud storage which means I will not be worry about losing my work.

3. Google calendar:
Google calendar is an amazing and easy tool for scheduling meetings, appointments, project deadlines, and ext. It helped me to be more organized and prevented me from forgetting any important event that I want to attend. I have created 4 calendars for myself, each one indicated certain events. For example, the projects meetings calendar included all the meetings that I had to attend in order to discuss the project with my group. Also, I liked the feature provided by Google calendar, where I will receive a message at 5 am which mentions all the meetings, events and deadline that I will have at that day.

4. Google drive:
Google drive is a file storage service which enabled me for cloud storage, file sharing and editing. I have created many folders there and then I uploaded my documents, presentations and photos over there. This tool made me feel relief since now I know that in case any damage happened to my laptop, I will not lose my work.

5.Google map:
I am one of the people who are very bad with memorizing locations.  Therefore, Google map consider as bless for me. I have uploaded it on my phone, so in case I want to reach any destination it will show me the direction and the time needed to reach over there. Also, what makes it very useful that it shows the traffic at each road, so in case I want to reach my distention in a short time, I know what road to use.

6. Google chrome:
Prior to Google Chrome, I was using Internet Explorer. One I noticed the difference between both browsers, I have sit Google Chrome as my default browser. Google chrome is much faster compared to Internet Explorer and it is very easy to use. Also, I liked the option where I could import my favorites from other browsers. Furthermore, the store offered by Google chrome is very interesting, where I have uploaded many apps from their and most of them is for free.

7. Google docs:
Google docs is very similar to Microsoft Office programs, but the only difference that it allows users allows to create, edit and share documents online. During this semester I faced problems with my laptop, so I had to use another laptop until they fix mine. The other laptop had the old version of Microsoft Office programs, so the only solution for me was using Google docs. It is very easy to use and when you save your document or presentation or sheet. Directly, it will appear in your Google drive. Also, I was able to share it with my group member by sending the link for them.

8. Google site:
Creating website was a very difficult thing for me to do. In Web 2, my colleague Sara and I had chosen Google site as our training session topic. I found that is very easy to use compared to other programs such as Dreamweaver; where I only had to fill out a form and choose a theme. Also, I can edit my pages by adding pictures, videos, links, gadget and other attachments. Finally, for the publishing,

9. Blogger:
Blogger is very amazing and interesting tool especially for people who love to share their diaries or have a business; where they can present their new collection. It is easy to create and to edit, where users can add photos, videos, links, attachments and much more. Also, what I really liked that it allows users to edit their previous posts.

10. Picasa:
Picasa is a great service offered by Google, where it allows users to edit their photos and to create movie makers and collages. It consider very easy to use compared to Photoshop. I have used it for my Photography course, where I had taken so many photos and I edited all of them using Picasa.

11.Google+:
Google+ is similar to Facebook, where I have added posts, shared photos and chatted with people and much more.  Also, I have created several circles for my friends, classmates and ext. Once I have followed people and allocated them in different circle, I was able to read their posts.
